barry staley
Barry Staley has been building things since he was old enough to reach the tool drawer. After graduating, he apprenticed for 4 years at a shop that produced displays, exhibits and promotional materials. Within the company was every type of trade and he worked in all the various departments from the shop and material production, to the art, printing and photography departments. From there he spent several years working at various trades. In 1978, he moved to Loudoun County, and began his future by doing small handyman jobs. In 1980 he formed an installation contracting firm specializing in solariums and energy efficient buildings. In 1987 he sold his share to his partner, and formed Staley Builders. Says Barry about his love of building "My area of expertise is in historic restoration, adaptation of new to old, appropriate visual cues, tasteful assimilation of building to land, space and balance, and aesthetically pleasant buildings. I have been involved in numerous development projects, and have an ambitious, yet realistic approach to bringing projects to completion. I believe any successful venture must have energy, beauty, a solidly defined purpose, a reasonable value, and a strong sense of community." Barry is married, has three grown daughters and five perfect grandchildren.

Brian Vann
Brian Vann was born in New Orleans, LA, and raised in Charleston, SC. After several years at Auburn University, he realized that computers were not a career he wanted. Following his family, he moved to Loudoun in 2000. He worked at Community church for 2 years with the children’s camp and youth groups. It was there that he met his future wife Ashley, working together in the youth ministry. In 2002 he started working for a friend who was a contractor, a profession he wanted to learn more about. Brian was mentored there for three years, learning much about the contracting business, and left on great terms in hopes of forming his own company. After a productive and rewarding year on his own, he decided to share his passion for building by joining with Staley Builders in 2006. "I love every minute of my time at work. I am very blessed to have found a job that I am excited to wake up and get started every day." Says Brian. He is married, and has two young children.
